The "Dance" Trilogy

by Lisette Ashton

Dance of Submission, Slave Auction & Slave Sentence

Dance of Submission started off as a single novel idea on one of those "what if...?" whims that often strike writers whilst they are either cleaning out the cat's litter tray or doing the washing-up. What if you write a story about three different types of dominatrix? Three vastly different people who each dominate, but approach their domination in different ways.

It was a challenging idea, and they're not usually the ones that make me produce my best results, but this story felt different. McGivern, the heartless, loathable (and in his own way, cute) villain of the story was the first character I thought of. I based him on a close, personal friend who isn't quite as despicable as the character in the book (although he's not that far away). Frankie was also there, as the perfect foil for McGivern's nastiness, and she was followed by the divine Simon. The submissives came quickly behind, with number three being the ideal companion for McGivern and the out-of-her-depth heroine Jane drawing up the rear.

Dance of Submission

Set on its own island, far away from prying eyes, the castle is a haven for the perverse. Three slaves owners, each with a reputation for dominating the indomitable, are gambling to attain ownership of the castle.

Testing their skills to the limit, each tries to prove their mastery and show themselves worthy of this ultimate prize. The dance of submission is the ultimate proof of that mastery and they each strive to beat the others in a race to teach their slaves the steps.

Not only did I enjoy writing Dance of Submission, but I realised the characters needed to do something more, which was when I started working on the idea for The Slave Auction. There was a nice interaction between the three of them and I needed to see what else would happen if they were brought back together.

None of them disappointed me and I was so pleased with the result that, as I was going through the final draft, I couldn't stop thinking about doing a third novel.

The Slave Auction

Austere, masterful and ruthess, dominatrix Frankie has learnt to enjoy her new life as mistress of the castle. her days are a paradise of endless punishments and her nights are filled with cruel retribution. But with the return of her arch-enemy McGivern, Frankie's haven is about to be shattered. He is organising a slave auction in which lives will be altered forever, and his ultimate goal is to gain control of the castle.

As the dominatrix becomes the dominated, Frankie is left wondering whether things will ever be the same again.

I didn't really like the idea of writing an ongoing series of stories so I knew that the third novel would have to conclude adventures on the island. I also knew that McGivern had done too many bad things to too many decent people for him to get away without punishment. It was this thought that gave me the setting for most of what followed in Slave Sentence.

Slave Sentence

Chained in his own dungeon, former master mcGivern is at the mercy of punishments far crueller than any he ever devised. The torture he receives is perverse, degrading and always sexually humiliating. Determined to overthrow his gaolers he forms an uneasy relationship with the most sadistic of his female tormentors and agrees to all her demands in his bid toregain control of the castle.

But his greatest fear is that he will come to enjoy his bondage before he can return to his dominant position.
